DESTINO XCARET, RIVIERA MAYA; QUINTANA ROO.- In the framework of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism, proclaimed by the United Nations, Grupo Experiencias Xcaret proudly celebrates the opening of Hotel Xcaret México. After nine years of meticulous studies to achieve a terrestrial, marine and geohydrological environmental characterization, it opened its doors in the Riviera Maya of Quintana Roo. This 900-room luxury resort establishes a new world category in the tourism industry: All-Fun Inclusive.
Under this concept, all guests who stay at Hotel Xcaret México will have included admission and transportation to the most emblematic parks of the Riviera Maya: Xcaret, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xoximilco, Xenses, Xel-Há, as well as the Xenotes tour, and tours to the archaeological sites of Chichén Itzá, Tulum and Cobá.
During the opening ceremony of the hotel, Marcos Constandse Redko, Director of Destino Xcaret, reported that the project will continue to grow in the next 10 years, and will include 12 hotels with 6,000 rooms, a stadium with a capacity for 12,000 people, a convention center, and a River Town, a zone of two kilometers in length that integrates entertainment, commerce and restaurants, all with an investment of two billion dollars.
Destino Xcaret will be developed in an area of 936 acres adjacent to Playa del Carmen, where Xcaret, Xenses and Xplor parks already exist, which provides the creation of 10,000 direct jobs in addition to the 4,500 already generated by Experiencias Xcaret, and 40,000 indirect jobs, in addition to the 18,000 that are currently available.
David Quintana Morones, the architectural leader, assured that Hotel Xcaret México was designed under the principle of integration with nature, considering not only rock, but also water and plants, as building materials, which allows the hotel to live in coexistence with the jungle and the sea.
David Quintana said: “We want our guests to be taken to Mexico in each of the experiences they have at this hotel, in its people, in its cuisine, in its music, in its crafts and decoration, textiles, mosaics, and in the elements that cover all spaces; and through the All-Fun Inclusive concept, and our parks, to take the best of Mexico with you in your heart.” Hotel Xcaret México opened its doors certified by EarthCheck in planning and design, for its good practices in the management of the environment during its construction.
